DAR ES SALAAM: RULING CCM Secretary General Ambassador Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi has called on both party leaders and members to shun divisive utterances.

Speaking on Thursday while officiating the capacity-building training for the party leaders held in Iringa region, Dr Nchimbi insisted that CCM embraces unity as one of its key values and discourages all forms of political repression.

He noted that remarks and actions by CCM members must always reflect the party’s obligation to the people, including preserving rights of all people.

“It is of paramount importance to understand that we carry the image of our party in whatever we say or do. If there is a thing we must protect zealously, it is the positive image of the party, especially regarding the responsibility of leading our country and serving the citizens justly and equally,” he insisted.

He urged the youth to be in forefront in safeguarding the party’s image, by refraining from statements and actions that may damage its long-cherished reputation.

Furthermore, in upholding the party’s mission, Dr Nchimbi reminded CCM members and Tanzanians in general that so far, no other party apart from CCM has shown the ability to lead the country diligently.

Dr Nchimbi reminded the training participants that Tanzanians were not ready to be led by other political parties that apparently lacked direction and strategic vision.

He commended the party’s youth wing (UVCCM) for setting a new record in Dar es Salaam recently when they launched a strategy dubbed ‘We Turn Off All, We Light Up Green’ that aimed at luring youths to support the party in its endeavours of bringing development to the nation.

Moreover, the party top executive urged the youth wing to move forward and use their influence to advocate for integrity, unity and patriotism.

Earlier, welcoming the secretary general, UVCCM’s National Chairperson, Mohammed Ali Mohammed, expressed gratitude to the party under its Chairperson, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan for the way it continues to groom and trust youth to serve the party and the country in general.

On her side, the youth wing’s Secretary General, Jokate Mwegelo, said the training will help the party leaders and executives at the regional and district levels nationwide to effectively carry out their responsibilities.
