Bunge Bonanza set for January 31 in Dodoma

DODOMA: TANZANIA’S preparing to host the fifth edition of the Bunge Bonanza on January 31st at Merlini Secondary School grounds in Dodoma.
The event, which aims to promote unity and sportsmanship, will feature MPs participating in various sports alongside the wider community.
Prime Minister Mwigulu Nchemba is expected to attend as the guest of honour.
The Chairperson of the Bunge Bonanza, Festo Sanga, confirmed that preparations are well under way and announced that the 2026 edition will be renamed the Bunge Azania Bonanza.
“This year’s event will coincide with the official launch of the 13th Parliament.
It will be the first time members meet in a relaxed sporting environment, promoting interaction and competition,” Sanga said.

The theme for the event is ‘Our Unity is Our Strength,’ and highlights will include a football match between supporters of traditional rivals Young Africans and Simba SC.
The event is open to the public and will run from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Both Yanga and Simba have confirmed their participation and are encouraging fans in Dodoma to attend.
