BASATA on transformative journey to boost revenue

DAR ES SALAAM: THE National Arts Council (BASATA) has embarked on a transformative journey aimed at bolstering its revenue collection processes and promoting financial growth.

Recently, officials participated in a training session designed to enhance their capabilities in managing funding and resources.

The session, led by the Director of Policy and Planning in the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Venance Mwamengo, focused on equipping BASATA staff with essential skills for improved revenue management.

BASATA Executive Secretary, Kedmon Mapana, underscored the significance of this training as a pivotal step in the organisation’s commitment to refining its revenue systems.

He highlighted that the newly acquired knowledge would empower staff, enabling them to execute their responsibilities with greater precision and efficiency.

“This initiative aligns with government policies and strategies, which are critical for fostering the growth of the arts and culture sector,” Mapana remarked.

He further noted that the training initiative is expected to build a robust framework for revenue collection within BASATA, enhancing the organisation’s overall capacity.
