Police arrest 103, seize stolen goods, drugs

DODOMA: POLICE in Dodoma have arrested 103 suspects for a range of offences, including theft, burglary, rape and sodomy, during operations conducted in February and March.

A major breakthrough occurred on March 7, 2025, at around 12:30am, when two suspects, Phocas Kasinje (23) and Isaya Alberto, alias “Sparta,” were apprehended in Michese, Mkonze Ward, Dodoma District, with five stolen television sets, according to Dodoma Regional Police Commander George Katabazi.

Police also seized 25 kilogrammes of cannabis, seven motorcycles used in criminal activities and several stolen items, including six mattresses, 25 bags of cement, nine mobile phones and two laptops.

Additionally, they recov – ered tools commonly used in crimes, such as hammers, knives, a window glass-cutting machine and a tin snipping tool. Mr Katabazi stated that 32 suspects have already been arraigned in court to face legal proceedings.

He urged Dodoma resi – dents to cooperate with the police and abide by the law, emphasising the importance of promptly reporting criminal activities to help prevent crime.

“Those whose property has been stolen should visit the Central Police Station to identify their recovered belongings,” he said.
