“Honestly, this project is impressive and satisfying because it was made possible by President Samia Suluhu’s financial commitment,”
“I firmly believe that without the President’s funding, no matter how skilled the contractor was, the work would not have progressed as it has. Therefore, we thank and commend President Samia Suluhu for her outstanding contributions in the fields of Information, Culture and Sports, particularly in the development of sports infrastructure,” she said.
On his part, the Deputy Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Hamis Mwinjuma, confirmed that the construction is at 33 per cent completion and that the stadium, when finished in June 2026, will have a seating capacity of 32,000.
He also highlighted that the stadium will have a lifespan of 130 years, with renovations scheduled every 10 years.
