Green Acres equips students with AI skills for digital future
DAR ES SALAAM: THE Director of Green Acres School, Jackline Rushaigo, has outlined the school’s efforts to introduce Information and Communication Technology (ICT) education, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), to equip students with the skills needed to navigate an increasingly digital world.
Speaking during the school’s graduation ceremony for Standard Seven and pre-primary pupils, which saw 60 students complete their primary education, Rushaigo said the school recognizes the importance of integrating modern technology into the learning process.
“We have enhanced the quality and efficiency of our ICT programmes. Our students are introduced to Artificial Intelligence from an early age, alongside learning that reflects the realities of Tanzania and the demands of the modern world,” she said.
“We provide them with knowledge and skills that they can apply beyond the classroom, enabling them to pursue various opportunities for self-employment and income generation. At Green Acres, we want every student to graduate with sufficient skills to accomplish great things,” Rushaigo added.
She urged Standard Seven graduates to maintain discipline, demonstrate commitment and work diligently in their studies as they transition to the next stage of their education.
Rushaigo emphasised that student achievement cannot be separated from close collaboration between schools, teachers, parents and guardians.
She noted that collective efforts are essential to ensuring that children receive quality education alongside nurturing that promotes strong moral values, accountability and self-confidence.
Rushaigo also expressed her appreciation to parents and guardians for placing their trust in Green Acres School and working closely with the school’s leadership in nurturing and preparing their children for the future.
She encouraged the graduates to use the education they have received as a foundation for achieving their aspirations while upholding integrity, respecting their parents and teachers, and remaining committed to continuous learning.
She further stated that Green Acres will continue investing in an education model designed to develop students academically, socially and across various aspects of life, preparing young people to compete in a rapidly changing world.
Guest of Honour Calls for Discipline, Academic Commitment and Strong Values
The guest of honour at the graduation ceremony, Edwin Odemba, urged the graduates to continue valuing education, discipline and good moral character as they advance to the next stage of their academic journey.
Odemba congratulated the students on completing their primary education and encouraged them to build on the knowledge and skills acquired at school as a foundation for their future development.
He underscored the importance of academic commitment, respect for parents, guardians and teachers, as well as effective time management in helping students achieve their personal and educational goals.
Odemba also called on parents to maintain close collaboration with teachers in supporting their children’s education and upbringing, noting that student success requires cooperation among families, schools and the wider community.
In addition, he commended the teachers and management of Green Acres School for their contribution to the students’ academic development and character formation.
He reminded the graduates that completing Standard Seven does not mark the end of their journey, but rather the beginning of another important phase that requires dedication, self-confidence and long-term goal-setting.
Odemba encouraged the students to serve as positive ambassadors of their school and to apply their education for the benefit of themselves, their families and society.
