Tanzania, Zimbabwe explore strategies to deepen their long-standing relations

LUSAKA: TANZANIA and Zimbabwe have agreed to9 broaden bilateral ties, with insistence on preserving and deepening the longstanding relations established by the founding leaders; Mwalimu Julius Nyerere and Robert Mugabe
This came after the Tanzanian IAN Ambassador to Zambia, Engineer Cyprian Luhemeja, held talks with Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Zambia, Charity Charamba, who also serves as the Dean of the African Group of Ambassadors and High Commissioners in Zambia, in a meeting aimed at strengthening diplomatic cooperation and advancing Africa’s development agenda.
During the discussions, Ambassador Luhemeja formally introduced himself to Ambassador Charamba following the commencement of his diplomatic assignment in Zambia.

The two diplomats exchanged views on a range of bilateral issues between Tanzania and Zimbabwe, emphasizing the importance of preserving and deepening the longstanding relations established by the founding leaders of the two nations, the late Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere and the late Robert Mugabe.
The ambassadors agreed that cooperation between Tanzania and Zimbabwe remains a key pillar in promoting political, social, and economic solidarity among African nations. They reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing collaboration in areas of mutual interest for the benefit of citizens in both countries.
Speaking after the meeting, Ambassador Luhemeja pledged Tanzania’s full cooperation with Zimbabwe and the African diplomatic community in Zambia, noting that collective efforts would contribute significantly to achieving national and continental economic development goals across Africa.
