Dr Mwinyi made the remarks when he joined Muslim faithful for Friday prayers at Bamita Mosque in Chumbuni, West Urban Region.
“We are required to do good and ensure that our children also uphold good morals so that we can build a better nation. When a person leaves this world, they should be remembered for their good deeds,” President Mwinyi said.

“When you have knowledge in various fields, including religious knowledge, you gain more respect in the community than when you lack education. Learning has no end; therefore, we should continue to study,” Sheikh Khalid stressed.
For his part, the mosque’s Khatib (preacher), Sheikh Suleiman Nassor, urged Muslims to strengthen love and unity among themselves and to pursue education, describing it as essential to daily human life.
He also encouraged worshippers to increase acts of worship during the holy months in Islam.
