Eid Mubarak, Dr Mwinyi greets Tanzanians as they celebrate Eid El-Adha

PEMBA: ZANZIBAR President, Dr  Hussein Ali Mwinyi has today, May 27, 2026,  joined Muslims in Pemba Island for Eid El-Hajj prayers held at Ole Kianga Mosque in South Pemba Region.

After the prayers, Dr Mwinyi proceeded to the Pagali State House, where he participated in the ritual slaughter of an Eid sacrificial animal (Udh-hiya) as part of the Eid celebrations, and later exchanged Eid greetings with sheikhs from the region in line with Islamic traditions marking Eid El-Adha.

Muslims around the world are celebrating Eid El-Adha following the completion of the Hajj pilgrimage, the fifth pillar of Islam.

“Eid Mubarak,” Dr Mwinyi conveyed to Muslim faithful during the celebrations.
