SADC, EAC to fast-track peace, aid for DR Congo
ARUSHA: THE Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the East African Community (EAC) have agreed to accelerate efforts to mobilise resources for peace and humanitarian aid in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
This decision was made during a joint emergency virtual summit held on Wednesday that brought together heads of state and government from both regional blocs.
The goal of the summit was to merge the EAC and SADC peace processes for the DRC into a single, unified “Africa-Led Process” under the African Union (AU).
