Zanzibar readies for 22nd Sauti za Busara Festival

ZANZIBAR: ZANZIBAR is about to come alive with music and excitement as the 22nd edition of the Sauti za Busara festival approaches.
Kicking off on Valentine’s night, February 14, this iconic festival promises an unforgettable experience with over 30 performances across four stages.
The island will pulse with energy as artists from Africa and beyond come together to share their vibrant sounds in Unguja’s historic Stone Town.
Over three exhilarating days, the festival will transform Zanzibar into a hub of cultural exchange, uniting people through the universal language of music.
Ahead of the festival, Busara Promotions Managing Director, Lorenz Herrmann, expressed his team’s commitment to delivering a magical experience.
“Welcome to a magic weekend on the magical island of Zanzibar, filled with African music under African skies. “Our team has been working hard to ensure this year’s edition of Sauti za Busara Swahili for ‘Words of Wisdom’ is truly epic! It’s our 22nd year and we invite you to celebrate three days of cultural festivities under the theme ‘Voices for Peace.’

United we dance! Karibuni nyote!” The festivities will kick off with a spectacular opening night on February 14, where love and rhythm will take center stage.
The evening will feature ten performances, along with an opening carnival parade, followed by ten shows simultaneously on the Forodhani Stage and two other stages at the Old Fort Main Stage and Amphitheatre.
The jam-packed program will showcase live performances from some of the finest musicians worldwide, offering everything from Afrobeat and reggae to traditional Tanzanian sounds and modern fusion.
The heart of the festival will be at the main stage at the Old Fort in Stone Town, where crowds will gather for unforgettable evenings of music under the stars.
