Young Africans conquer 29th Mainland Premier League title

Young Africans have secured a 29th Premier League title after defeating Dodoma Jiji 4-2.

The dramatic match played at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam on Saturday afternoon has enabled Yanga be declared champions with two games to go before ending the season.

It all started with Kennedy Musonda who powered home in the 38th minute to give the hosts a lead.

In the 58th minute, Dodoma Jiji rebuffed  through Collins Opare before Seif Rashid increased the tally in the 65th minute to make it 2-1 in favour of the visitors.

However, substitutes Farid Mussa and Mudathir Yahya rescued their side with three late strikes to hand their side a 29th league silverware.

As such, Yanga have defended the title after pocketing 74 points in 28 games prior to facing Mbeya City and Tanzania Prisons in their two final away fixtures.

For Simba, if they excel to succeed in their upcoming two games, they are going to claim 73 points which cannot change the destiny of the season’s title.
