DAR ES SALAAM: YOUNG Africans SC head coach, Miloud Hamdi, is confident in his squad’s preparations for today’s crucial match against Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC FC) at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam.
The highly anticipated encounter is vital for both teams, as they look to securing all three points in the ongoing Tanzania Mainland Premier League.
Hamdi shared his thoughts on the match, stating, “We have trained intensively for this game and are fully prepared to deliver a strong performance as every match in this league is important, and this one is no exception because we need to keep our winning momentum and strengthen our position in the title race.”
He further emphasised the significance of the fixture, particularly with the league standings being tight at the top.
“This squad understands the importance of this match. We cannot afford to drop points at this stage. Every game is like a final for us and we must give our best on the pitch as the players are highly motivated and we are approaching this match with a winning mindset.”
Hamdi also acknowledged the strength of the opposition unveiling that KMC has shown resilience throughout the season and they are a disciplined team with quality players and cautioned his players to approach the game with caution.

However, he said they must trust in their strategy and ability to break down their opponents and assured the club’s supporters to expect a competitive and entertaining match.
On the other hand, KMC’s head coach, Kally Ongala, expressed respect for Yanga as a big team but remained confident in his own team’s preparations.
“We respect Yanga as a strong team with talented players, but we have also prepared well for this match. Our focus is on playing with discipline and executing our game plan precisely.” Ongala added,
“We have analysed Yanga’s strengths and weaknesses and we have worked on a strategy that we believe will give us a positive result. It’s all about maintaining our shape, staying focused and making the most of our opportunities when they come.”
The KMC coach also recognised the unpredictability of the league, stating, “In this league, anything is possible. We’ve seen underdogs rise to the occasion and surprise the bigger teams. Our job is to stay committed and fight for every ball, because this is an opportunity for us to prove our quality.”
Heading into the match, Yanga SC sit in second place on the league table with 46 points, just behind arch-rivals Simba SC, who lead with 47 points.
The tight race at the top makes this fixture even more critical for Yanga as they look to reclaim their dominance. Meanwhile, KMC occupy 7th place with 22 points and will be eager to climb higher in the standings.
