Yanga’s Eng. Hersi axed  out as six others advance 

DODOMA: The Central Committee of the National Executive Council of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has announced, through an official statement released this Tuesday from the party’s headquarters in Dodoma, that only six candidates have been shortlisted in the initial vetting phase for the Kigamboni parliamentary seat. Among those who did not make the cut is Engineer Hersi Said, the President of Young Africans.

The announcement was made by CPA Amos Makalla, Secretary of the National Executive Council (NEC) for Ideology, Publicity, and Training, who emphasized that the nomination process was conducted with high levels of transparency and diligence to ensure the selection of the most qualified candidates to represent CCM in the upcoming elections.

According to Makalla, the criteria used in the screening included leadership capability, political influence, integrity, and the candidates’ popularity among CCM members and the public at large. He noted that CCM remains committed to fostering a democratic culture by providing opportunities for individuals with the right qualifications to lead.

This year’s General Election is scheduled for October 29, 2025. CCM has reaffirmed its commitment to a careful and thorough selection process, aimed at fielding strong, credible, and community-approved candidates capable of driving development in their respective constituencies.
