MWANZA: DEFENDING champions have widened a gap with their closest pursuers, Simba to 7 points following their 3-0 victory against Pamba Jiji at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza this evening.
The defending champions continue to lead the league race with 58 points from 22 games.
Before their today’s encounter with Pamba Young Africans were commanding the helm with 55 points, 4 points superior to their traditional rivals who are glued at the second position with 51 points from their 20-game outing.
Shadrack Boka scored the opener in the 28th minute through a free kick to give Yanga a slim 1-0 lead at the end of the first half.

It looked as if the score could remain unchanged as both teams played a relaxed game. There was no serious attempt in the early 25 minutes of the second half.
Things changed midway in the second half when Stephane Azizi Ki was introduced to replace Khalid Aucho.
In a span of three minutes, Aziz Ki scored a brace to make Yanga claim a sweet 3-0 win at the end of the 90 minutes.
Aziz Ki scored Yanga’s second goal in the 76th minute before netting his team’s third goal in the 78th minute.
