DAR ES SALAAM: DEFENDING champions Young Africans now lead the title chase by five points following their 2-1 win over Singida Black Stars at KMC Stadium in Dar es Salaam this evening.
Yanga, who have played 20 games, now lead the title chase with 52 as Simba, their closest challengers, have remained second with 47 with two games in hand. Simba, who have already played 18 games, will be in action on Wednesday, February 19 against Namungo at Majaliwa Stadium in Ruangwa.
Goals from Clement Mzize and Prince Dube helped Yanga to stay at the helm of the Premier League table firmly.
It took Yanga 13 minutes to open their goal account through Clement Mzize whose low shot found the back of the net.

Yanga consolidated their lead a few minutes before the breather through Prince Dube.
Dube headed home the second goal from a corner kick in the 43rd minute.
Singida Big Stars had a superior second half after scoring a consolation goal in the dying minutes through Jonathan Sowah.
It was Yanga’s second win after being forced to a barren draw with JKT Tanzania at the Major General Isamuyo in round 18th of the league.
Yanga enjoyed a hefty 6-1 victory over KMC before defeating Singida Big Stars.
