DODOMA:VICE-PRESIDENT Dr Philip Mpango has welcomed a partnership with Innovo, a UK-based company, to support various infrastructure projects in the country, including roads, railways and energy infrastructure such as solar, wind and geothermal power.
He also highlighted investment opportunities in health infrastructure, including hospital construction and waste management.
Dr Mpango made the remarks yesterday during a meeting with Innovo Chief Executive Officer Paul Woodman and MECCO Managing Director Nasser Sheikh at Chamwino State House in Dodoma.
He emphasised that Tanzania is one of the best destinations for investment due to its resilient and rapidly growing economy in Sub-Saharan Africa.
He also noted that the country’s strategic geographical location provides an opportunity to serve landlinked countries, thereby boosting trade and development.
During the meeting, Dr Mpango reiterated Tanzania’s commitment to fostering partnerships that drive economic growth and improve infrastructure.
He urged Innovo and other investors to explore further opportunities in Tanzania, particularly in modernising transport networks and expanding access to clean energy solutions.
Innovo is a UK-based company specialising in funding and investing in large-scale infrastructure projects worldwide. The company has a strong presence in Africa, focusing on key sectors such as roads, hospitals, airports, and renewable energy.
With a commitment to sustainable development, Innovo collaborates with governments and private sector partners to deliver impactful and longterm infrastructure solutions.

The meeting was attended by the Minister for Transport, Prof Makame Mbarawa, Deputy Minister for Works, Engineer Godfrey Kasekenya, DirectorGeneral of the Public-Private Partnership Centre, Mr David Kafulila and Director of Economic Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador John Ulanga.
The discussions reflected Tanzania’s ongoing efforts to attract foreign investment and strengthen its infrastructure sector, positioning the country as a key player in regional economic growth.
