Tanzania,Turkiye’s MÜSİAD agree to bolster ties in energy,  minerals, construction, tourism sectors

ISTANBUL: TANZANIAN Ambassador to Türkiye, Iddi Seif Bakari, and the President of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association of Türkiye (MÜSİAD), Burhan Özdemir, have agreed to strengthen cooperation in key sectors, including manufacturing and production, energy and minerals, infrastructure and construction, and tourism.

The cooperation is aimed at increasing investment projects and expanding bilateral trade between Tanzania and Türkiye.

The agreement was reached during talks held on September 8, 2026, in Istanbul, Türkiye.

Ambassador Bakari highlighted Tanzania’s access to both domestic and regional markets through the East African Community (EAC), the Southern African Development Community (SADC), and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which connects a market of more than 1.4 billion people.

He also said Tanzania has improved its investment climate through access to land, tax incentives and a one-stop centre for investor services.

For his part, MÜSİAD President Burhan Özdemir expressed appreciation for the opportunity to hold the discussions and said the association was committed to strengthening cooperation with Tanzania through strategic opportunities and official visits for the mutual benefit of both sides.

Ambassador Bakari commended MÜSİAD for its plans to undertake a business mission to Tanzania in October 2026 to initiate formal discussions with government institutions and the private sector, with the aim of advancing investment opportunities.
