It is expected to be attended by various high-ranking officials. The low-cost houses, according to the RC, are part of the project for the construction of affordable houses for employees in the public service countrywide which kicked off in 2014.
“The primary objective of WHI is to enable public employees and members of pension funds to own affordable houses and serviced plots as enumerated in the National Human Settlement Development Policy,’’ noted Ms Senyamule.

According to Dr Fredy Msemwa, the Chief Executive of the state-owned real estate development entity, the project to be inaugurated by the Vice-President at Dodoma’s Njedengwa area includes 206 houses, which can accommodate over 200 families at once.
However, he insisted, there was a demand of 200,000 houses for public servants and that so far, a total of 1,000 houses had been constructed in different regions countrywide and that the implementation of the project was still ongoing.
At a media briefing, the Dodoma RC said that the project seeks to ensure that public servants own affordable houses in efforts to increase working efficiency at their workplaces.
“Through this plan, WHI had provided low interest loans to public servants which sought to help them own affordable houses,’’ added the RC adding; “The implementation of the plan to have the best residential houses for public servants is part of President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s aspiration to ensure that Tanzanians have access to affordable houses.
