VP Mpango represents Samia at EAC summit

Vice-President Dr Philip Mpango has arrived Bujumbura in Burundi to represent President Samia Suluhu Hassan, at the 21st Extra-Ordinary Summit of the EAC Heads of State which has started today.

The Summit was preceded by the 49th Extra-Ordinary Meeting of the East African Community Council of Ministers on Tuesday (30th May, 2023).

The matters expected to be contemplated at the summit includes appointment of Deputy Secretaries General; designation of Vice President of the East African Court of Justice; appointment of Judge to the East African Court of Justice, and; Progress Report and the way forward on the restoration of peace and security in Eastern DRC.
