KIGOMA: THE United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) has issued a statement to the Burundi refugees who are being kept in Nyarugusu and Nduta Camps in Kigoma Region that there is no other decision for them than to return to their country.
The UNHCR Head of Sub office in Kibondo District at Kigoma Region, Henock Ochala said this, while briefing the Director of Refugee Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr Sudi Mwakibasi, who paid a visit at the Nduta Refugees Camp to deliver the message to the refugees about the tripartite process and closure of Burundi refugee camps by December 31 this year.
The Head of the UNHCR Sub office said that he has been involved in different meetings several times with the leaders of the governments of Burundi and Tanzania, discussing the repatriation process for Burundi refugees.
He said the resolutions are for the refugees to return to their country and the UNHCR approved the resolutions by ensuring that it helps as much as possible to implement them, to allow all refugees to be returned to their home.
