Tulia calls for expansion of Samia Serengeti Music Festival

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Samia Serengeti Music Festival turned into a spectacular celebration of talent, culture and unity, as Speaker of the National Assembly, Tulia Ackson, not only called for the event’s expansion but also stole the show with her electrifying stage presence.

Speaking before a massive crowd of music lovers and high-ranking government officials including members from the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports Tulia Ackson began her address by conveying warm greetings from President Samia Suluhu Hassan, acknowledging the President’s unwavering support for the festival and the creative community at large.

She then urged organisers to consider extending the festival’s duration and hosting it in various regions across the country, allowing more artists the opportunity to showcase their talents.

“There is no shortage of talent in this country,” she declared. “This festival is more than just entertainment it’s a celebration of our identity and a gateway for our artists to reach the world. I encourage the organisers to consider hosting this event in more regions and for more days, so no talent is left behind.”

But it wasn’t just her words that lit up the festival it was her energy on stage. In a moment that sent the crowd into a frenzy, Tulia joined performers with impressive Singeli dance moves, showing rhythm and charisma that wowed thousands.

The crowd sang along and cheered as she performed, creating a magical and unforgettable moment.

The magic didn’t stop there. With confidence and spirit, she took the mic and sang “Sisi Ndiyo Wale” a song full of pride and determination that resonated with the audience.

As the beat rolled on, she performed more songs, turning the political figure into a pop star for the day. It was pure magic a moment where leadership met art in its most joyful form.

Tulia also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to nurturing the creative and sports industries, announcing plans to build a state-of-the-art arts and sports arena at Tanganyika Packers in Kawe.

The initiative is part of broader efforts to provide infrastructure that supports and grows Tanzania’s rich artistic and athletic potential.

Before Tulia took the mic, Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports Palamagamba Kabudi expressed his excitement being at the festival being his first time to attend.

He cited that President Samia Suluhu Hassan has an immense appreciation with the arts and entertainment sector in the country. He also thanked the whole crowd for the attendance and the artists as well.

Before Tulia lit up the stage, the Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Palamagamba Kabudi, took a moment to share his heartfelt excitement, noting that this was his first time attending the Samia Serengeti Music Festival.

Visibly moved by the energy and unity of the crowd, he praised the event as a true reflection of Tanzania’s artistic spirit.

Also, Kabudi underscored President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s deep commitment to supporting the creative sector, acknowledging her visionary leadership in recognising arts and entertainment as vital tools for social cohesion and national pride.

“I am truly honoured to witness this celebration of talent and I thank the artists and every single person here today for making this event so alive,” he said.
