TFF announces ticket prices for CHAN 2024 opener

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA Football Federation (TFF) has released ticket prices for the opening match of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), set to take place at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
TFF’s Media and Communications Officer, Clifford Ndimbo, announced yesterday that tickets for the opening game between Tanzania and Burkina Faso will be priced as low as 2,000/-, with the highest ticket costing 10,000/-.
Ndimbo said, “The entry fee is very affordable. Fans seated in the general seating area, which accommodates the majority of supporters, will only pay 2,000/-. VIP B tickets will cost 5,000/-, while VIP A tickets will be priced at 10,000/-.”
The match is scheduled for Saturday, August 2, and TFF is encouraging all Tanzanians to come out in large numbers to support the national team in this important opening fixture.
Ndimbo stated that the pricing is intended to make the match accessible to everyone and to ensure a full stadium as Tanzania hosts the opening of the continental tournament.
“We have set these prices to give room for all football lovers in the country to have the chance and celebrate the opening and support our team with pride.”

The Benjamin Mkapa Stadium has the capacity of 60,000 seats. Ndimbo mentioned that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) awarded Tanzania the honour of hosting the opening match due to the country’s reputation of strong fan turnout and passion for football.
“The opening game sets the tone for the entire competition,” Ndimbo added. “We are calling on all Tanzanians to attend in large numbers and create a memorable atmosphere.”
To boost public engagement, TFF has enlisted wellknown club representatives Ahmed Ally from Simba and Ally Kamwe from Young Africans to encourage supporters throughout the country to put aside club rivalries and rally behind Taifa Stars.
Simba’s spokesman, Ahmed Ally, inspired fans with a familiar chant: “This time, we direct our energy towards supporting the national team and the CHAN tournament. Our goal is to keep the trophy in Tanzania.”
Tanzania is in Group B, alongside Burkina Faso, Madagascar, Mauritania and the Central African Republic, in what is expected to be a competitive group stage.
