TEMESA apologise to passengers, vows to refund fares

The Tanzania Electrical, Mechanical, and Electronics Services Agency (TEMESA) has issued an apology to passengers of the MV Kilindoni Ferry after its services were suspended due to an engine malfunction.

COASTAL REGION: The Tanzania Electrical, Mechanical, and Electronics Services Agency (TEMESA) has issued an apology to passengers of the MV Kilindoni Ferry after its services were suspended due to an engine malfunction.

The MV Kilindoni Ferry operates between Mafia and Nyamisati in the Coastal Region.

In a statement released on Wednesday, TEMESA announced that technicians are currently working to resolve the issue, with repairs expected to be completed by October 28, 2024.

The agency also committed to refund fares of all passengers who had paid for service during the affected period.

Earlier in August, the Minister for Works, Innocent Bashungwa, instructed the Deputy Permanent Secretary, Dr. Charles Msonde, to oversee reforms at TEMESA aimed at addressing the agency’s challenges and improving its performance and efficiency.
