Mentorship sessions were led by seasoned journalists and media experts, including the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), Senior Lecturer, Dr Egbert Mkoko, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s Cecilia Foca and Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA)’s Engineer Andrew Kisaka.

“I believe this training will strengthen our capacity to cover the elections,” said Paul Mabeja, a journalist with a local news outlet, Nipashe.

“It has opened our eyes to the importance of accuracy and neutrality, especially when reporting on political issues,” he said.

The training was well-received, with participants expressing gratitude for TBC’s initiative. Attendees noted the need for similar workshops to be conducted more frequently as the election date draws closer.
