Tanzania’s mining sector eyes gains in the 5th Local Content Compliance Forum

MWANZA: THE Minister for Minerals, Mr Anthony Mavunde, is expected to officiate at the Fifth Local Content Compliance Forum (LCCF 2026), which will be held in Mwanza from July 22 to 24, bringing together key stakeholders to promote greater participation of Tanzanians in the country’s mining sector.

The three-day forum, organised by the Mining Commission, will take place at the Malaika Beach Resort and is expected to attract mining companies, mine service providers, mineral traders, government institutions, investors and members of the public interested in opportunities within the mining industry.

According to the Mining Commission, the forum is aimed at strengthening the implementation of local content by equipping participants with knowledge and practical skills through technical presentations, panel discussions, training sessions and exhibitions.

The event is also expected to provide a platform for stakeholders to establish business partnerships, exchange experiences, identify investment opportunities and discuss strategies for improving compliance with local content policies and regulations in the mining sector.

Organisers said proceedings will begin at 8:00 a.m. each day and will feature technical sessions, exhibitions and business-to-business engagements designed to foster collaboration and expand commercial opportunities across the mining value chain.

The Mining Commission has encouraged prospective participants to register in advance through the Local Content Compliance Forum website and obtain additional information via the commission’s official communication channels.

The annual forum has become one of Tanzania’s leading platforms for promoting local participation in the mining value chain, supporting the growth of Tanzanian enterprises, attracting investment and contributing to the sustainable development of the country’s mining industry.
