Tanzania’s Digital Economy Gains Advanced Privacy Shield

DAR ES SALAAM: In Tanzania’s rapidly expanding digital economy, where mobile banking, online business, and digital payments are now part of everyday life, safeguarding personal and professional information has become a top priority.
In response, Samsung Electronics has stepped up its commitment to user privacy.
Speaking during the launch of Galaxy S26 series in Dar es Salaam, Head of Mobile Business at Samsung Tanzania, Mgopelinyi Kiwanga, stressed the company’s recognition of the critical importance of safeguarding personal information.
“As smartphones become central to both personal and professional life, privacy is no longer optional but essential,” Kiwanga said.

He said the standout feature of the new series is the built-in Privacy Display, the first of its kind in the mobile industry.
The company noted that innovation marks a new chapter in smartphone security by putting privacy at the heart of the user experience, giving Tanzanians greater control over their digital lives.
