Tanzania thanks EU envoy for facilitating major development projects

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, has held a farewell meeting with the European Union Ambassador to Tanzania, Christine Grau, following the completion of her diplomatic tenure in the country.
During their discussions, Ambassador Kombo commended Ambassador Grau for her contribution to strengthening relations between Tanzania and the European Union, particularly in the areas of development cooperation, trade and investment, implementation of the Global Gateway initiative, private sector development, and the promotion of open dialogue between the two sides.
Kombo reaffirmed Tanzania’s commitment to deepening its partnership with the European Union based on the principles of mutual respect, transparency, and shared benefit. He noted that the cooperation between the two partners has continued to contribute to the country’s social and economic development, and wished Ambassador Grau success in her future assignments.
For her part, Ambassador Grau thanked the government of Tanzania for the strong cooperation and support she received throughout her diplomatic mission. She also underscored the importance of sustaining the strategic partnership between Tanzania and the European Union through continued open dialogue and collaboration in key development sectors.
The meeting formally marked the conclusion of Ambassador Grau’s diplomatic posting in Tanzania, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening the long-standing partnership between Tanzania and the European Union.
