Tanzania takes the Raisina Dialogue as a platform to address the global economy, security, diplomacy

NEWS DELHI: THE Tanzanian government believes its participation in the Raisina Dialogue 2026 in India will strengthen the country’s engagement in global policy discussions on security, diplomacy, and the global economy.
That was revealed by the Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister and East African Cooperation, Ngwaru Maghembe, who participated in the official opening ceremony of the international conference Raisina Dialogue 2026 held on March 5, 2026, in New Delhi, India.
Dr Maghembe attended the event representing the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo.
The opening ceremony was officiated by the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, who served as the Chief Guest.
In his keynote address, he emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation and the use of diplomatic dialogue as a key instrument for addressing the rapid changes taking place in the global political and security landscape.
Also present at the opening ceremony was the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, who hosted the event alongside government leaders, diplomats, and strategic policy experts from different parts of the world.
This year’s discussions are guided by the theme “The Global Crossroads: Assertion, Accommodation, Advancements.”

The discussions were formally opened by the Foreign Secretary of India, Vikram Misri, and brought together ministers, diplomats, and international policy experts from various countries.
In addition to attending the opening ceremony, Dr Maghembe was also invited to a special official dinner held on the evening of March 5, 2026 in New Delhi as part of the formal opening activities of the Raisina Dialogue 2026 discussions.
During the conference, Dr Maghembe had the opportunity to meet and exchange greetings with several international leaders, including India’s Minister of External Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, and Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs and Prime Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi.
During the visit, Dr Maghembe was accompanied by Tanzania’s Ambassador to India, Anisa Mbega, as well as the Director of the Asia and Australasia Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Felista Rugambwa.
Tanzania’s participation in Raisina Dialogue 2026 aims to strengthen the country’s engagement in global policy discussions on security, diplomacy, the global economy, and the evolving architecture of international governance systems.
