Tanzania seeks development partners’ collaboration in enhancing security

KIBITI: THE Deputy Minister for Home Affairs, Ayoub Mohammed Mahmoud, has called on development partners to continue collaborating with the government in strengthening security infrastructure, including the construction of police stations, to ensure that police services reach citizens more effectively and closer to their communities.
Speaking after inspecting the construction of a new Class B police station in Kibiti District, Coast Region, the Deputy Minister stated that the government is implementing a phased plan for building police stations based on the availability of funds.

He emphasized that the involvement of development partners can accelerate the implementation of these critical security projects, highlighting the benefits of cooperation between the government, development stakeholders, and local communities. He added that this partnership will help reduce challenges faced by residents in some areas who currently have to travel long distances to access police services.
The Kibiti Police Station project thus reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to make security services more accessible and efficient for citizens.
