Tanzania secures convincing 162-run victory over Ghana
DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA asserted their dominance in the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Africa Qualifier with a resounding 162-run win over Ghana at the University of Dar es Salaam oval yesterday.
Having won the toss and opting to bat first, Tanzania posted a formidable total of 215 runs in 35.4 overs, setting a challenging target for Ghana.
In response, Ghana struggled to build momentum, managing only 53 runs in 16.3 overs, falling short of the required total.

Khalidy Juma emerged as the standout performer for Tanzania, earning the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for his exceptional bowling display, claiming four wickets with crucial catches.
Additionally, Karim Kiseto played a pivotal role with the bat, scoring 91 runs, while Laksh Bakrania contributed significantly with four wickets.
For Ghana, Lee Nyarko showcased his bowling prowess by taking four wickets, supported by David Ateak who claimed three wickets.
This victory propels Tanzania to the top of Group B in the qualifiers, accumulating four points from two wins.
Following closely behind are Ghana and Nigeria, both with two points each, while Mozambique occupies the bottom position in the group standings.
