Tanzania, DR Congo move to deepen ties in security, logistics, agriculture, value addition to natural resources

LUBUMBASHI: TANZANIAN envoy to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Said Juma Mshana, held talks with the Governor of Kasaï Oriental Province, Jean-Paul Mbwebwa Kapo, aimed at strengthening cooperation between Tanzania and the province through both public and private sector partnerships. The discussions focused on key areas including defence and security, transport and logistics, agriculture, and value addition to natural resources for the mutual benefit of both sides.
The meeting took place at the Governor’s office in Mbuji-Mayi, where the two leaders underscored the importance of expanding economic and development cooperation to further strengthen relations between Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

In addition to the meeting, Ambassador Mshana visited Safi – Pure Drinking Water, a bottled water manufacturing company owned by Tanzanian investor Salim Ali Jiwa Lakha. The visit formed part of efforts to encourage and recognise the contribution of Tanzanian investors in promoting economic growth, expanding investment, and deepening economic ties between Tanzania and the DRC.
