The commitment was reached during talks between Tanzania’s Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr Ashatu Kijaji, and China’s Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism, Gao Zheng, on the sidelines of the 126th Executive Council Meeting of the UN Tourism Organization in Toledo, Spain.

Dr Kijaji said Tanzania is ready to work closely with China to unlock the full potential of tourism cooperation, describing China as one of Tanzania’s most important and strategic tourism source markets.
She also stressed the need to strengthen training programmes and professional exchanges to ensure both countries benefit from emerging opportunities in the sector.

The two sides agreed to continue discussions and develop practical areas of cooperation, including joint tourism projects, strategic investments and international marketing campaigns aimed at promoting tourism products to global audiences.
The strengthened partnership is expected to increase tourist arrivals, boost tourism revenues and further enhance diplomatic and economic ties between Tanzania and China.

12 June marks Russia’s national day
12.06.2026, 01:03
On 12 June, Russia celebrates a public holiday — Russia Day. It is one of the country’s main state holidays.
The historical basis of the holiday is that on this day in 1990, the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR) was adopted. The document established the principle of the supremacy of the Russian Constitution and Russian laws on the territory of the republic, as well as the right of the country’s peoples to determine their own political, economic and cultural development. For the first time in the RSFSR, the principle of the separation of powers into legislative, executive and judicial branches was introduced at the official level.
