Tanzania advances management of its mineral resources to ensure the wealth support the country’s economy
LINDI: THE Tanzanian government has continued to create a conducive environment for investment and the management of mineral resources to ensure that the country fully harnesses its mineral wealth to support national economic development.
Speaking at the Mining and Investment Exhibition being held at the Mining Grounds in Ruangwa District, Lindi Region, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office responsible for Regional Administration and Local Government, Riziki Shemdoe, said the government recognises the significant contribution of miners to job creation and economic growth.
He said creating a favourable environment for mining activities would strengthen the sector and increase its contribution to communities and the wider national economy.
Lindi Regional Commissioner Adam Malima said the region was committed to making the mining exhibition bigger and more international in scope in order to attract more investors to the region.
Some of the miners participating in the exhibition expressed appreciation to the government for creating a supportive environment for mining activities.
Local residents also highlighted the economic benefits generated by the exhibition, including opportunities for businesses and increased economic activity in the area.
The exhibition brings together stakeholders in the mining and investment sectors to showcase mineral resources, promote investment opportunities and strengthen collaboration among miners, investors and other industry players.
