DAR ES SALAAM: The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) President, Wallace Karia, has announced that the federation’s Administrative Committee will convene to discuss the future of suspended Taifa Stars coach, Adel Amrouche, following the verdict of the latter’s appeal.
In an exclusive interview with a local radio station in Dar es Salaam on Thursday, Karia acknowledged that Amrouche’s tenure at the helm of the team is uncertain. “Of course, there is a strained relationship between him and the players as well as the management, and therefore, there are many aspects we need to address,” said Karia.
“We are currently awaiting the verdict of his appeal, which he submitted to CAF against his eight-match suspension imposed by the federation,” Karia added.
Furthermore, Karia stated that the federation has also lodged an appeal with CAF regarding the $10,000 fine they were compelled to pay following Amrouche’s suspension. “Although we have already paid the amount to meet the deadline, we have appealed to CAF, arguing that he is responsible for covering the fine, not us,” explained Karia. “If our appeal is successful, we intend to deduct the amount from his salary. However, until a decision is reached, his contract remains valid, and we are awaiting the response to his appeal before taking any further action,” he continued.
Karia also revealed plans to empower domestic coaches, stating that approximately six Tanzanian coaches will undergo coaching drills in preparation to take charge of senior teams.
