AFTER their emphatic curtain raiser victory over Sierra Leone, Tanzania is back to action today against Ghana in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Group B Qualifiers at Gahanga International oval in Kigali Rwanda.
It was Harsheed “spider” Chouhans hat-trick that stole the show on the first day when Tanzania beat Sierra Leone by 9 wickets in the opening game.
Speaking from Rwanda, the national team captain Abhik Patwa said that they had a light training yesterday and the day before to shape up for the today’s duel.
“We made a lot of training on batting, fielding and bowling and we are ready to keep our mission back to track,”
“We are on today for another reasons, none other than second victory,” said buoyant Patwa.
He said that the head coach Jimmy Kamanda had previously worked on some weaknesses seen in the first match to make sure that they grab yet another victory.
But he had admitted that Ghana are a grilled side that needs a lot of attention to beat.
But the fact is that they had played them out regularly in the previous events and that there is nothing to fear from them.
After playing Ghana today, their next focus will be on Mozambique for their third match in the fixture penciled for December 5th this year.
In other today’s fixture, Eswatini will play Nigeria while Cameroon who beat Eswatini by nine wickets in the previous tie, will play Mozambique.
The fixture shows that the Tanzanians will confront Eswatini on December 6 before facing Gambia on the same day.
Other matches on their fixture will be against Nigeria and Cameroon on December 8th and 9th this year.
Tanzania has regularly participated in the regional qualifiers, making a positive participation despite its failure to win the title.
The Tanzanian boys recently won the so-called Tanzania-Rwanda Bilateral Series as part of their build up ahead of the event in Kigali.
