Simba’s Chama gets 3-match ban, fined 500,000/- for misconduct

Simba player Clatous Chama has been slapped with a three match suspension and fined 500,000/- for fouling Ruvu Shooting player Abal Kassim.

A statement from the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) on Sunday afternoon says the incident occured far from where the ball was making it difficult for the referee to notice.

It further describes it as a deliberate action from Chama to Kassim insisting that the punishment is in accordance with section 41:5(4.2) of the league’s players regulations.

The match at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam ended 3-0 in favour of the Reds who pocketed maximum points.

Also, the encounter witnessed Ruvu Shooting formerly being relegated to the championship league.

However, after the game, social media platforms were awash with a clip showing Chama stepping dangerously onto the foot of his colleague.

As such, he is going to miss two of his side’s last matches of the season and one league 2023/24 league campaign.
