Simba set to face Tanzania Prisons in crucial clash
DAR ES SALAAM: SIMBA SC head coach Fadlu Davids has outlined an aggressive, high-pressing attacking strategy for today’s crucial Mainland Premier League match against Tanzania Prisons at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam.
Speaking ahead of the game, Davids stated that his side will be looking to create as many attacking opportunities as possible to secure a positive result. Davids underscored that their strategy focuses on securing an early goal to unsettle their opponents.
“We will continue with the same approach, trying to create many chances. The main objective is to try to score early. The quicker you score, the opponents lose motivation,” said Davids.
Stressing the significance of an attacking style, Davids reiterated that scoring early often demoralises the opposition, giving Simba an advantage in the match.
He acknowledged, however, that the encounter with Tanzania Prisons would not be an easy one, especially given the presence of a new coach in their camp, who is expected to bring fresh tactics.
“We know it’s going to be a tough match with the tactical instructions the new coach has put in. We are preparing for all possibilities. It’s going to be a tough match, like all matches are tough in the Premier League and we will not take it lightly,” Davids stated.
Tanzania Prisons head coach, Amani Josiah, acknowledged the strength of their opponents, describing Simba as a formidable side. He stated that his team would approach the match as under – dogs, but with a focused and cautious mindset.
“I can’t put too much pressure on my player demanding three points. I will let my players play freely and we will take whatever result comes our way,” said Josiah.
Tanzania Prisons’ assistant captain, Tariq Simba, echoed his coach’s sentiments, acknowledging Simba’s reputation while expressing readiness to compete.
“We respect Simba, knowing they are a big team, but we are prepared to fight. Even though they won the first-leg match, we will give our best in tomorrow’s game,” said Simba.
