‘Simba learnt valuable lesson’

DAR ES SALAAM: SIMBA’s head coach, Fadlu Davids, has said that his team has gained valuable insights from their 1-1 draw against Fountain Gate on Thursday at Tanzanite Kwara Stadium in Manyara.
Upon arriving in Dar es Salaam yesterday, Davids shared his reflections on the match, stating, “…like I said, we learn from experiences like this. We had enough chances to score the second goal, the winner, but after conceding, it didn’t go our way. But we move on. We focus on the present.”
He underscored that the league is long, with many matches still to be played and plenty of points up for grabs. “The league is long. There are a lot of matches left and lots of points to play for.
We continue to compete for three trophies and every match we play, we will continue to fight for the three points and the victory,” he added.
In ano t h e r u p – date, the coach spoke about the injury of Kibu Denis, who was injured during the match against Tabora United.
“Based on the doctors’ advice, Kibu needs a couple of days more to heal,” the coach explained. “We will go for a scan to assess the extent of the injury.”

Despite the setback, the coach remained hopeful that Denis would be fit for the upcoming match against Tanzania Prison. “Let’s hope he will be back for the next match,” he concluded.
The coach also urged Simba’s supporters to rally behind young star Ladack Chasambi, following his unfortunate own goal that led to the 1-1 draw against Fountain Gate.
“Chasambi is a talented young player and mistakes like this are part of the game. Football is a journey, and you learn from tough experiences. We must support him to help him grow, as he has immense potential,” Davids said.
His counterpart, Fountain Gate’s head coach, Robert Matano, expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance. He commended their discipline and their ability to neutralise Simba’s attacking threats.
“We managed to limit Simba’s attacks from both wings, forcing them to play mainly in their o w n h a l f . W e a l s o won several key oneon-one duels and I’m extremely proud of the boys.
It was a great game,” Matano stated. However, Matano voiced concern over some of the referee’s decisions, suggesting that certain calls seemed questionable.
