Simba have been knocked out of Azam Sports Federation Cup (ASFC) semifinals after a 2-1 loss to Azam FC.
The encounter at Nangwanda Sijaona Stadium in Mtwara on Sunday afternoon has seen the Reds possibly ending the 2022/23 season trophy-less.
Azam netted their goals through Lusajo Mwaikenda and substitute Prince Dube while Simba got theirs via Sadio Kanoute.
With the outcome, Azam will face either holders Young Africans or Singida Big Stars (SBS) in the finals of the contest.
The duo are set to clear their differences at Liti Stadium in Singida for the second last four clash of the competition.
It is a good moment for the Chamazi based side who eye to finish the campaign with a silverware in their cupboard.
This season, in three meetings between Azam versus Simba in all competitions, the latter have cherished two wins while the other fixture ended in a draw.
