TURKEY: TANZANIAN Women’s U17 team, Serengeti Girls, is hopeful to clear the Finland hurdle when they face them in the semifinal stage of the UEFA Friendship match this Sunday, in Turkey.
Serengeti Boys qualified for the top four position of the UEFA Friendship Cup 2025 with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Jamaica in a match played on April 3 in Turkey.
This win marks the second consecutive victory for Serengeti Girls, following their earlier 1–0 triumph against Lebanon in the opening match of the tournament.

In recognition of their success, the Tanzanian Ambassador to Turkey, Iddi Seif Bakari, congratulated the team for their excellent performance and for proudly representing Tanzania on the international stage. Ambassador Bakari also wished the players and technical team success in their upcoming match against Finland, scheduled for April 6, 2025, as well as in the remaining fixtures of the tournament.
The UEFA Friendship Cup is being held at the Turkish Football Federation’s training center, bringing together teams from various nations with the aim of promoting friendship through sports.
With their current form, Serengeti Girls look well-positioned to contend for the championship, provided they maintain their strong performance in the upcoming matches.
