Sea Cliff Z’bar set for Valentine’s Couples Golf Challenge

ZANZIBAR: FOLLOWING the successful staging of its first 2026 event, the January Golf Challenge, Sea Cliff Resort and Spa is once again set to welcome golfers to Zanzibar with the much-anticipated Valentine’s Couples Challenge.
The romantic golf showdown will be played in an 18-hole Two Ball Better Ball format on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Sea Cliff Golf Course in Mangapwani, Zanzibar, one of the world’s most scenic nine hole golf courses.
The tournament is expected to draw golfers and couples from across the region, blending competitive play with Valentine’s Day celebrations in a picturesque coastal setting.
Speaking from Zanzibar, Sea Cliff Golf Club Manager, Sophie Nyanjera confirmed that preparations are in top gear, buoyed by the strong turnout and positive feedback from the January Golf Challenge.
“We are fully prepared to host golfers for what promises to be a wonderful Valentine’s Couples Challenge,” Nyanjera said.
“The January tournament was a great success, and we are building on that momentum to deliver an even more memorable experience.”
She encouraged golfers to register early and participate in large numbers, noting that several sponsors have already shown keen interest in supporting the event and enhancing its overall appeal.
The club’s Vice-Captain, Collins Chemng’orem, noted that one of the event sponsors, Zanzi Resort, has promised to offer dinner vouchers for two in the tournament.
He added: “Members were also informed that the club is pleased to have secured several sponsors for the Valentine’s Golf Day, namely ZMMI Wines, Villa Kiva, Sea Cliff Resort and Spa, Mpola Halisi Coffee, The Flower Bar Zanzibar, Zanzi Resort, and United Petroleum.”

Beyond the competition, Sea Cliff Resort and Spa has curated a family-friendly atmosphere by offering complimentary activities for children, including mini golf and access to the kids’ club.
Participants and guests will also enjoy exclusive Valentine’s offers, such as discounted accommodation in Superior Sea View rooms, a welcome gift, 10 per cent off horse riding, and a 20 per cent discount on spa treatments.
Nyanjera further confirmed that there will be no February Golf Challenge this year, as the club has adjusted its calendar in observance of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
