SBS defeat Namungo to maintain league lead

SINGIDA: SINGIDA Black Stars maintained their winning spree in the Premier League after upsetting Namungo 2-0 at Liti Stadium in Singida on Sunday.
Marouf Tchakei who was named Man of the Match bagged a brace to propel his side to a sweet home triumph as they enjoy 19 points from seven matches.
His second goal came through the spot-kick they secured in the 84th minute of the hot game and he made no mistake as he coolly beat Namungo goalie Beno Kakolanya.
It was their sixth premier league success of the campaign and are now four points clear at the summit of the table, a convincing start for them.
For Namungo, it was their fifth defeat and have only cherished 6 points from seven played games, not a good run for the Lindi based club.

In an early match at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza, hosts Pamba Jiji settled a 1-1 draw against Kagera Sugar in another thrilling league match of the day.
Peter Lwasa drove Kagera Sugar ahead in the 44th minute forcing the hosting side to roar from behind and level the deficit in the 76th minute courtesy of George Mpole.
Efforts by either team to increase the tally and walk away with maximum points were unsuccessful as in the end, the duo shared one point apiece.
Pamba Jiji remain at the bottom of the table win-less in their eight played encounters and have just managed 4 points garnered from four draws.
This makes them the only side yet to taste league win in the unfolding season hence they are yet to get good remedy to withstand the tempo of the top flight league.
