Singida Black Stars climb back to league top
SINGIDA: SINGIDA Black Stars returned to the top of the league table after a gripping 1-1 draw against JKT Tanzania at CCM Liti Stadium in Singida on Sunday.
Singida Black Stars were first to break the deadlock in the 15th minute through Elvis Rupia who seized a golden opportunity.
A miscommunication between JKT’s goalkeeper and a defender left a ball bobbling in the box like a prize waiting to be claimed.
Rupia, ever alert, pounced on the loose ball, effortlessly steering it into the net with no one in his path.
The roar of approval from the stands echoed through the stadium as the players celebrated, their joy reflecting the fans’ hopes.
As the first half progressed, Singida continued to dominate, with Rupia almost doubling the lead in the 32nd minute. He darted through JKT’s defence, but his shot flew just wide after receiving a clever through ball from Arthur Bada, leaving the home crowd gasping in anticipation.
However, as the first half drew to a close, the tide shifted dramatically. In a heart-stopping moment, JKT’s forward, Ismail Kadar, was brought down in the penalty area by Idd Habibu, earning his side a chance to equalise.

A beautifully orchestrated play culminated in Shiza Kichuya slipping a perfect assist to Wilson Nangu, who expertly slotted the ball home, sending their supporters into raptures.
