Samia urges stronger African economic co-op for self-reliance

CONGO-BRAZZAVILLE: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has urged African nations to strengthen economic cooperation as a key step toward achieving self-reliance.

The message was delivered by former President Jakaya Kikwete on her behalf during a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Congo (Congo-Brazzaville), Collinet Makosso Anatole, in Brazzaville.

Prime Minister Anatole received the message on behalf of President Denis Sassou Nguesso, who was in his hometown attending the funeral of his elder brother.

During the meeting, Kikwete emphasized President Samia’s vision of a united Africa working together economically to reduce dependency on aid and grants from Western countries.
