PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan is expected to officiate at the climax of the 60th anniversary of the National Service (JKT) to be held today at the Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma.
The Minister for Defence and National Service, Innocent Bashungwa said a number of activities have been lined up to colour the commemorations including a JKT in service parade.
During a week-long celebration, JKT have been undertaking a number of events like marathon, blood donation, SUMA JKT exhibition, as well as entertainment from various artists.
“President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan will be the chief guest during the 60th JKT anniversary and a number of dignitaries have been lined up for the celebrations, including diplomatic corps,” said Mr Bashungwa.
He urged the members of the public, civil servants, business operators and all well-wishers to turn out in big number to attend the climax of the 60th National Service anniversary celebration.
“I take this opportunity to invite all Tanzanians to come out in big numbers to attend the event on Monday(today) starting at 06:30 in the morning at Jamhuri grounds.”
Mr Bashungwa also extended his sincere gratitude to President Samia for the great efforts she makes to ensure that the National Service continues to be the centre of quality education for Tanzania’s youths.
