Samia relieves Mtwara DC, DED duties

TANZANIA : President Samia Suluhu Hassan said she will relieve Mtwara District Commissioner and District Executive Director from their positions for failure to perform.

President Samia said the Mtwara DC Hanafi Msabaha and Mtwara DED Tatu Said Issike had failed to serve the residents and in turn made some to return their Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM) membership cards.

“You ignore their (residents) concerns, I don’t know what you are going to answer to God ,Mtwara District Commissioner is being bribed, … I have no faith in him,” the president said during the closing of six days of leadership training for Regional Commissioners and Regional Administrative Secretaries, held at Julius Nyerere Leadership School in Kibaha, Coastal region.

She added: “I will revoke his appointment (DC) today. I can’t tolerate seeing party cards being returned, and yet the DC and DED are around.”
