DAR ES SALAAM: President Samia Suluhu Hassan said the government will work effectively on the recommendations and observations presented in the reports of the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB) and the Controller and Auditor General (CAG) for the 2023/24 financial year.
The reports were officially handed over to the President today, March 27, 2025, by the Controller and Auditor General, Charles Kichere, and the Director General of PCCB, Crispin Chalamila, in a ceremony held at the State House in Dar es Salaam, attended by top government officials.
Speaking after receiving the reports, President Samia stated that the government will carefully review the recommendations outlined in the documents to strengthen good governance in the country.
“As the government, we are ready to continue working on the recommendations and observations presented in these two reports. We will listen carefully, follow up on the parliamentary debate regarding the CAG and PCCB reports, and ultimately take appropriate action to enhance good governance,” said President Samia.

The reports highlight various issues, including recommendations to improve efficiency in public institutions, increase government revenue, and strengthen public service management. Additionally, they reveal challenges such as financial losses, mismanagement of public funds, and tax evasion, underscoring the need for reforms in public financial management systems.
According to President Samia, the government will take decisive action to address the identified shortcomings to ensure accountability and transparency in public institutions.
Nothing will be done about it. And next year the same thing will happen as usual 🥺
