Salinero deepens Kilimanjaro Marathon partnership

MOSHI: Salinero Hotels has reaffirmed its commitment to the Kilimanjaro International Marathon, pledging to expand its role as the iconic race enters another year at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Salinero Hotels Marketing Manager, Mr Moses Naigisa, said the marathon continues to inspire the hospitality brand due to its unique blend of community spirit, wellness, tourism and global participation.
“What continues to inspire us is the marathon’s ability to bring together community, health, tourism and international participation in one iconic event at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. It perfectly aligns with Salinero’s commitment to hospitality, wellness and supporting major events that showcase Tanzania to the world,” he said.
Since 2024, the Moshi-based hotel has played a growing role in the annual race, sponsoring and hosting the official media launch, providing shower facilities for runners at the finish line and hosting luncheon events for Guests of Honour, sponsors and stakeholders after the race.
Mr Naigisa described the experience as rewarding, noting that supporting runners’ recovery and official hospitality engagements has allowed Salinero to contribute directly to the event’s success.
This year, the hotel’s focus remains on enhancing runner comfort and offering premium hospitality services to key guests and officials. Salinero will also participate in the Kili Expo, showcasing its accommodation and event hosting services to more than 13,000 runners and thousands of spectators expected to attend.

“Our biggest highlight is seeing exhausted runners cross the finish line and being able to offer them immediate comfort through our shower facilities. It’s a simple but very meaningful contribution that athletes truly appreciate,” he said.
He added that the Kili Expo provides a valuable platform to engage with runners and stakeholders ahead of race day, strengthening the hotel’s presence within the marathon community.
In promoting a healthy lifestyle, members of the Salinero team are also preparing to participate in the race through regular training sessions.
This year’s marathon features Kilimanjaro Premium Lager as the main sponsor of the 42.2km full marathon, YAS sponsoring the 21km half marathon and CRDB Bank backing the 5km fun run.
Official supporting sponsors are Kilimanjaro Water and TPC Sugar, while official partners include GardaWorld Security, Toyota Tanzania, Columbia Sportswear, Simba Cement and ALAF Limited.
Official race suppliers are Salinero Hotels, Kibo Palace Hotel Arusha and Keys Hotel Moshi.
The event is organised annually in Moshi by Kilimanjaro Marathon Company Limited, with Wild Frontiers Events overseeing inbound travel and international marketing.
