“This project will generate jobs for young people, especially in the media sector. The newly constructed offices will require staff, and all this machinery will need skilled personnel to operate it. Therefore, these projects will create employment,” said Husna.

She also highlighted that the completion of these projects would enhance access to reliable news, particularly in print media. She emphasized that newspapers can be preserved for a long time and serve as important records, especially government publications.

On his part, the Deputy Minister for Information, Culture, Arts, and Sports, Hamis Mwinjuma, stated that once the construction of the plant is completed, TSN will have the capacity to print its newspapers independently. Additionally, the company will offer printing services to individuals, businesses, and institutions in need of such services.

TSN’s Chief Executive Officer, Asha Dachi, explained that the purpose of the committee’s visit was to assess the project’s implementation. She stressed the importance of ensuring a smooth financial flow to complete the project efficiently and enable the company to operate profitably.

Moreover, to ensure the project is completed within the planned timeframe, the parliamentary committee urged the government to ensure a clear and timely flow of funds for the project.
